Dr. Snowlove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Snow

The current record for the most snowfall in a single Winter in Milwaukee was set in the 1885-1886 season at 109.8 inches. That's just over 9 feet. Including the 1-2 inches that fell last night, we are now up to 98.9 inches for 2007-2008. That puts us in second place.

At this point, I'm thinking, the heck with it. Let's go for #1! Snow at the Seder? Bring it on!

Snow at the seder in a leap year! Now that would be an even better feat! Didn't Cleveland have snow on Pesach a few years ago?

bah blogger ate my comment.

When I was child (back in the 80s) I asked my father if I could have a horse. His response was, "I'll get you a horse when it snows in April."

Sure enough a few years later it snowed in April. When I reminded my parents of said promise, they acted like they never said such a thing.

But I remembered.

Bah. Who wanted a stupid smelly horse anyway?

I lived in Boston in '93-94, which was a record setting snowfall there. Also in Albany in 92'-93 which set a record for most snow from one storm (over 4 feet). Toronto is pushing its record this year. Maybe I should move to Arizona?

Okay, we'll dig you out in May. It looks beautiful but I can't take snow for too long and it gets in my space.

You can't EVER speak this way! What if you're a tzaddik and He/She hears you and listens! I'll tell you one doc who won't be talking to you again. On the other hand, maybe you could run some interference on. . .

yay!

Although in NYC in 93 it snowed 6 inches a week before pasach.

I know cause I was going home that day, and got stuck in the airport overnight.

but snow is awesome, I hope you get it.

and we got a (relatively) large amount of snow here too, a whole foot at one time and several smaller falls.

but they didnt' stay more than a day. Oh how things have changed.

Yes, aidel must be talking about the year it snowed on Erev Pesach and my family got stranded at Mount Airy Lodge for the seder, because we were on our way to my grandparents in Scranton, PA and got stuck in a 4 hour traffic jam!

That was the only time in my childhood we ever went to a hotel for pesach. I've never seen so many Jews eat so much food in such a short time. we got stuck in the waiter's quarters, that's all they had left. Quite an eye opener.

Don't worry. It'll be balmy by Pesach.
