I've Got My Own Seder, Too

You just gotta love YouTube. I found this video of a Shlock Rock show at Queens College, probably around 1990 or 1991. You have to watch quite a while to get a glimpse of me on the bass, but there is another trombone-playing blogger here who gets more screen time.

And here's one of Hinay Matov (always one of my favorite original rock Shlock tunes). This one is vintage because Lenny has hair on the top of his head and I have none on the bottom of my chin.

Oh my, I remember that gig. We had the worst sound man in the history of live music! :-)

Thanks for sharing. Chag Sameach to you and yours.

Queens College of Knowledge! One of my favorite places! I'm just trying to figure out what building you guys were in.

My oldest brother was a student there in 90-91 if my math is right - and if he was anyone, he was at that show!

I remember we had some pyrotechnics and a smoke machine on stage and it was making me sneeze!

RM, I think it was the main theater at Queens College.

BTW I wasn't THAT fat. Whoever transferred the video (thanks, btw) squeezed the vertical height down to make it more "wide-screen", with unflattering effects on us all (except Yonah, who always looks good no matter what you do with him--Damm him!).

:) fun.

little known fact that I just remembered: one of the first cassette tapes I ever purchased (maybe even the first!) when I was younger (like nine or ten years old) was a shlock rock tape from one of the jewish bookstores here in melbourne. (possibly for afikoman present.)

chag sameach!

I think I went to a Shlock Rock concert around 91...

Nice. But I was wondering about the size... :)

Wow - so that's a vintage schlock rock concert. I am assuming it's much different today with the rap influence vs that hot 80's sound of yesteryear.

And btw, Yonah may have had the good looks with the lean built and the great dark hair, but those middle age blues of baldness catches up with everyone. ; )

Shlock Rock was THE FIRST Jewish band to use Rap music. Way back in 1985. Back when it was getting us banned.

And Yonah is still very good looking. Damm him.
