psycho: adj. Crazy; insane.
toddler: one who toddles.
A Good Moed to you and your family. Hope you had a good and dry Sukkos. Toronto was very chilly at night, but glorious and mild and sunny in the daytime for sitting in the sukkah.Okay, on first glance, I thought the decoration is reminiscent of an Emmy Award http://www.iemmys.tv/images/webstatue.gif, and I also thought of the Atlas statue outside Rockefeller Center in NYC http://imagesource.allposters.com/images/FIP/NY-00635-B.jpg.Doctor, do my Rorschach interpretations reveal anything ABNORMAL about me?
www.greekshops.comHere's what I thought - hope the first part of the chag was fun!
Scratch that - meant to put in www.thegreekwarriors.com
Um...I don't know but have a great sukkos.
Hard candy in a wrapper!
An upsidedown pomergranat. Looks like we have matching Succah decorations; each year i let each child pick out a new decoration, this year someone picked this one out.Good Moaid. Enjoy the rest of the Chag. Hope the concert rocks!
so THAT'S what it's supposed to be!
tweety bird... or maybe charlie brown.
I hope you guys can see this ok.There's a small roundish section, then a big roundish section, then another small roundish section, then some strips of mylar at the bottom. So far, nobody has come up with what I think it is.
It seems reminiscent of an armillary sphere to me: http://www.humboldt.edu/~rap1/EarlySciInstSite/Instruments/ArmSphere/ESI.ArmilSphr.jpg(I don't think that's what you had in mind, based on your description...)
Hmm...veddy interesting...You people are being very literal with this. You should take a step back, look a the whole thing, and tell me what it reminds you of.
I think it looks a bit like a pinata.
ancient wine skins?btw, in an old post they pointed out about the mesh under the schach, whats it mean "the holes are wider than the mesh"?because i'm really interested in finding out.thanks.the other thing it kinda reminds me of is a weird peanut. or a really funky chicken sitting on an egg.
Ummm... is it the Starship Enterprise?
OK. Here's one from left field. Knowing what I do about where you grew up, I'll guess it's the Unisphere at Flushing Meadow Park.take a look:www.skateny.com/worldsfair/unisphere.jpg
I think Halfnuts wins, with an honorable mention to Deeni, who said Tweety Bird.I don't think it will spoil this thread to let you all know that the PT here calls this the "chicken" ornament. Every year we dutifully hang the chicken over his head. He doesn't see a bird in a cage, that would bespeak art....No, he sees a chicken hanging by its neck. And he has, for several years. Now, I will entertain comments on the pathos and possible tx plans.
It's a rubber chicken! A rubber chicken! A freakin rubber chicken! Can't you people see it???
I see Carmen Miranda in a grass skirt and a hat ornamented with pineapples and mangoes.
I was gonna give it away, but I came too late.
If you think that looks like a rubber chicken, I think the rorschak says more about you than us!! Hee hee :)
I'm with Yaakova. Rubber chickens are clasically long and skinny and don't have any spherical segments. It's OK, though. We all need to find our own rubber chickens in life, and if other people don't see them where we see them, that doesn't necessarily mean that we've lost so much sleep making it to minyan that we've lost our mind.
OK. OK. I am NOT CRAZY!!!!Just because I see rubber chickens where most of you DON'T doesn't make me ABNORMAL.Why, I'm sure many of you do see a rubber chicken there, or possibly an elastic goose, but are too ashamed to admit it!I tell you, I'm PERFECTLY NORMAL!!Even Half Nut Case agrees with me! He sees it too!Wait...
I see a butterscotch candy in the wrapper.
That's just what I was saying. Didn't you read my comment? I was just saying how crazy you're not.Mrs. Balabusta: More Seroquel in the Nesquick, please!
I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this, but you leave me with no alternative.
i don't know, abba. those lines remind me of the laser pointers they always use to refer to The Constellations in the planetariums. you know, the ones where they could draw pretty much ANY shape in the world and you would believe them, because there are bucketfulls of stars? i think you could just as easily draw a convincing outline of an inverted pomegranate, or for that matter, charlie brown.
Ok...the pomegrante was a great guess. The rubber chicken, once you said it and I turned my head sideways and really think out of the box - I guess it can be interpreted like that. All I saw was a fish.
I got wrapped candy--thanks Chana, great minds think alike. The fella, asked to look at it, said "A skeletal dragon. Wait. Those are lightbulbs, not just flashes of light. A ceiling. There's a thing, it's round, I think it's made of gold wire or mesh...I do not want to know WHAT this says about the future father of my children.
It doesn't bode well, I'll agree.
And I thought it was Cro-Magnon man.
Hmm...I can sorta see that, what with the grass skirt and the bulbous abdomen.
