Our Kids Make us Laugh

I just want to remind everyone that during this time of War we should take a few moments to realize what this is all about. Keeping the world safe for the next generation. It is our children, with their wide-eyed innocence, that bring happiness and light into this world.

So let's take a break from the constant news coverage and laugh at all the goofy things that they say.

My daughter slept overnight at her friend's house. For breakfast they had something she said similar to kasha (what we call oatmeal, at home). I asked if it was Cream of Wheat. And my daughter said, "Oh, yeah, but it's called Queen of Wheat."

Thank you PT. Sometimes in the chaos of our daily lives, my kids are the only things that keep me grounded. That's when I realize it's all worth it--just to see their smiles, hear their giggles, or laugh at their wacky lines.

that story is really cute. My daughter is too little to say things yet but I still enjoy her and the things she does that are cute and funny! I teach so I get to hear funny things out of kids' mouths on a daily basis!

Yah, that's kinda what I figured last night. Seems like half the OKS people thought of the same thing, considering the sudden burst of posts - and that's great.

PT, I am so glad you made that point.

I think there are a bunch of us on that blog who feel that maybe we don't have much to add to all the war coverage and rhetoric, so we do what we're good at.

We're like the USO.

Some of us feel we don't have much to add, but do it anyway. :) Isn't that what blogging's all about!? ;P

it's more of a big box. it's down stairs in the 'toy pantry' that the PT always is begging to be accompanied to so she can get her "oldest toys". we got rum, scotch, whiskey vodka and some wierd cherry liqeour, or something like that. not much though. i thought you put that stuff there.

We don't really have the tv on very often, but when we do, like my husband, my 7 yr old is hooked on the news. She asked me today how long a war lasts. I told her that it can be a very very long time, sometimes for 20 or more years. She said, "I feel bad for all the people, because that's a long time to be without food and water."

IT's amazing what they pick up, but it's even more amazing, their rationale and concerns.

Just to add to my comment above. My daughter had a bday party today. I am not sure how war and Israel go brought up in conversation with the girls, but they were huddled around their one friend, who was giving them the scoop on the current events there, and they all were so into it.
