Early Breakfast

Because today is the fast day of Taanit Esther, I got up a 3:30 am to eat some cornflakes with banana and a glass of chocolate milk.

And now I feel completely blaaaahhhhh....

I wasn't far behind you. At 3:50 I had a bagel and cream cheese and a glass of orange juice.

Oh, how I wish I was in your position. I was too lazy to get out of bed that early so while my husband had coffee and more, I slept. Now I am deeply regretting it!

The banana and the chocolate milk may have been overkill.

Last fast day I woke up early to eat and have coffee and I just felt nauseaous all day after eating so early in the morning. So now I am working with a caffeine withdrawal headache. Hmmm...6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other.

Rumor has it that it's best, if possible, to get off caffeine 3 days before a fast, on the grounds (you should pardon the pun) that, at least, you'll get the caffeine-withdrawal headache *before* the fast, not *in addition* to it.

I'm not always good at taking my own advice, mind you--I can't stay awake at the office without my daily fix of M&M Peanuts. Ah, yes, caffeine + protein, the perfect combination of junk food and the delusion of healthy eating :)

Hang in there, folks--we'll all get to the Megillah reading and the eating eventually. Bimherah. (Oy.)

The other side of the coin (globe...):
Its 4 AM AFTER the megila reading by us, and after fasting the whole fast, and working, and (double) megilla reading.
Now I am sitting in my kitchen, trying to compensate and I'm munching junk we already got from Mishloach manot, plus (good stuff) I am making for sending tomorrow (today)So I guess you all have something to look forward to...
